These are the terms for using Plot. By creating an account or using the site, you're agreeing to them. We've tried to write them plainly rather than in dense legalese — this is an early, first-pass version of these terms, and it may be refined over time as Plot grows.
Plot is a platform that helps people begin things — curated starter guides paired with a personal map that grows every time you start something new. We refer to Plot as "we," "us," or "the service" throughout these terms.
You need an account to build a map on Plot — either with an email and password, or by continuing with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your account and the personal data associated with it — see our Privacy Policy for the specifics.
Anything you add to your map, any check-in note you write, and any feedback or guide contribution you submit stays yours. By posting a check-in note, subject, or public profile content, you give us the license we need to store it and display it back to you (and, for your public map, to anyone who visits your /u/[username] page) as part of running the service.
If you contribute a community guide, you're confirming it's your own original writing or something you have the right to share, and you keep authorship credit as shown on the guide itself.
Plot is meant to be an honest record of what you've actually started — please don't use it to misrepresent yourself, harass others, or post content that's abusive, hateful, or illegal. We filter obviously inappropriate language in display names, group names, and subject submissions, and reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate this.
Please don't attempt to abuse, scrape, or overload the service — including automated or bulk submissions to feedback, guide requests, or any other part of the product.
Plot is currently free to use in full — there is no paid tier, subscription, or billing relationship today. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll update these terms and clearly explain what's changing before it affects you. Nothing on your map can ever be purchased — the things Plot might sell in the future are optional extras like richer reflection prompts or map customization, never the core map itself.
We do our best to keep Plot running reliably, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Plot.
We may update these terms as the product changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Plot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
